Vladimir Yankilevsky about his project: "In the 1960-s I was very concerned with the problem of correspondence of "internal" and "external" aspects of a person's life, of a "naked" lone man and a "clothed" one - social person; adequate reactions to the World and their deformation in social environment. This is a collision of idealistic views and absurd. Two basic themes of etchings and pictures have originated therefrom: "The Mutants" (with subtopics of "Sodom and Gomorra", "City - Masks", "Functions and Diagrams") and "The Anatomy of Senses". "The Anatomy of Senses" cycle is devoted to self-worries human's experiencing of himself and worries of "Other". This is so to say depicting "from inside", revealing of the inside life dynamics. In "The Mutants" I tried to make visible those deformations, psychic mutations which occur to a human being as a social product. However, all of us are mutants to a certain degree."
